This is the best exercise book I have ever seen. There are color photos and detailed explanations of each exercise which are easy to follow. I love that there is a chapter on each body part. There are various exercise programs to choose from and different levels of each exercise so you can move on to a more challenging version. It is the ultimate exercise book.

I have been using The Women's Big Book of Exercises for two weeks so far. This book has it all: strength training, cardio, stretching,and even nutrition. All of the different exercises prevent me from getting bored and encourage me to keep going! The illustrations of almost ALL of the moves help me maintain my form. There is also really great nutritional information as well as informative pages on each muscle group. Towards the rear of the book are several programs to follow. I am currently doing the "Hard Body Workout" and using the 4 week low-carb diet from the front of the book. I've built strength and lost 8lbs already! I plan to keep chugging along with the rest of the programs one after the other when I finish. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is serious about getting fit!


No mention of vegetarian protein options but great resource overall...

This book is fabulous!
I won't reiterate what the other reviewers have mentioned about how well the book is organized - suffice it to say I totally agree.
My only disappointment was with the diet section. I wish they had included tofu, soymilk and some other vegetarian protein options for those of us who don't rely soley on animal protein.
Perhaps the next edition will be more on trend with the growing number of people who are seeking out protein alternatives to meat, dairy and cheese - even if only for variety.
Otherwise, its well worth the price!

I used this book in conjunction with the Body For Life program. I'm someone who get's bored easily doing the same workout. This book gave me just what I needed to create very unique workout routines. I've lost 40lbs in six months and I don't think it would be possible without this book. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is because the book doesn't include exercises that use resistance bands and kettle bells.

LOVE this book. I have read a lot of books pertaining to fitness programs, excercise, & dieting - this is my favorite that I have read so far. Awesome pictures - instructions on how to properly do excercises are very helpful. The number and variety of strength training/cardio programs this book offers holds something for everyone. So glad I bought it.
