I am 65 and out of shape, so most exercise videos was to much for me.
This one was perfect and I feel I got a good workout but it was still something I could do. The others were just to much and this one was perfect for me.
It strengthen the back without hurting it.


NOT FOR BEGINNERS!!!

If you are over 50, overweight, or generally out-of-shape, this is NOT the way to start exercising. I've never seen a beginners DVD that you need to do oblique twisted abdominal crunches, yes, crunches (back on the floor, doing situps while trying to put right elbow to left knee & vice-versa). There are also other questionable exercises with weights that are not for a beginner. As you watch, all of the sudden, you need to have a bench with weights to continue the dvd. I sincerely do not recommend this for anyone just starting out.


Poor production quality

While the exercises on this video were simple enough for my obese friend. The production was so ridiculous it seemed like a joke. I personally use high quality exercise videos such as Jillian Michael's and Jackie Warner. I've even used the Biggest Loser workouts which I think are really great, but still just a little too advanced for my friend. This video had some good reviews and I was really hoping it would be a truly good beginners forum. If anyone has any suggestions for a basic beginners instructional video, but with the production quality of the big name videos, I would be very grateful.

I like this DVD. I started out using three-pound weights and I notice when I go up to five-pound weights, I get really sore, so it must be good exercise! My only nitpick is that the DVD is a bit amateurish. For instance, some of the words that appear on the screen are misspelled. Nice introduction to weight training, though, in a pretty beach setting.


Fun Beginners/ Exercise with Light Weights

Well it's definitely easy enough for me to do - which is great! I hate to exercise but now it's something that I HAVE TO DO. I couldn't stand the misspelled words, but luckily she talks more than I had to read. It is a good beginners DVD for women over 50 in poor shape like me! I think it will do the trick to get me started!
